John and I are a little bit of coffee snobs. John more so than me because I like a little bit of coffee with my cream and he drinks his black. Either way, we have tried so many different types of brewing methods that I could almost write a dissertation on the subject. One brewing modality that has always been daunting to try due to the precise nature has been the pour over method. When I was asked if I wanted to try the Mr. Coffee® At-Home Pour Over coffee maker I jumped at the opportunity. It is the easiest way to make a cup of pour over coffee because they walk you through the process step by step! Bonus: TheMr. Coffee® At-Home Pour Over is featured in the Amazon Prime Day 2o19 specials!
So if you are new to the pour over method, lets cover some basics. The benefit of pour over coffee is that the method brings out the true flavor of the coffee beans by using optimal coffee brewing temperatures and the right amount of coffee and water. Hot water is slowly passed through the grounds, extracting the richest flavors and aromas. Typically this process involves weighing the grounds and water and calculating the optimal ratio. SO MUCH WORK considering it has to be done before your first cup of coffee in the morning. The Mr. Coffee® At-Home Pour Over takes the guesswork of pour over with an on screen step by step guide that walks you through the pour over process. An integrated auto-measure scale automatically calculates the right amount of coffee and water, and tells you just how much to add for a consistently great tasting cup of pour over coffee. I'll take you through the simple process now!
The kettle has a guide inside to show you exactly how much water it needs while you are filling it. After the kettle is filled, set it on the heating station and press the button. The easy to read command display will show that the kettle is heating.
While it is heating you can prepare the coffee grounds on the easy to use scale. First, select the amount of coffee desired: 2 cups, 4 cups, or 6 cups.
Then add the cone filter.
Next, add the coffee. No need to measure anything out before you put it in the filter, the command center will show when you reach the correct amount of coffee in the display.
After you reach the precise amount of grounds and the kettle is heated, start pouring water over the coffee grounds. The scale measures the amount of water as you pour and guides you through so you don't pour too quickly.
It is THAT SIMPLE! No weighing, no measuring. It automatically calculates the perfect coffee to water ratio for the perfect pour over coffee.
So what do you think friends?
