If I am going to have a mixed drink it's going to be a mojito. A mojito just reminds me of the sun in my face and sand in my toes. I had this realization the other day while planning a get together for my girlfriends.

Why wait until my next trip to enjoy a great mixed drink? Why not seize the moment and adopt a more rosé all day attitude?  So, I teamed up with Day Owl Rosé and the Strawberry Rosé Mojito was born. Boom! How's that for seizing the day? This drink is beautiful and perfect for your next bridal shower, tv show watch party, or Monday. I mean any excuse will do, right?

The Strawberry Rosé Mojito recipe is simple to make but I wanted to make sure that I nailed it. I used Day Owl Rosé because it is a crisp, fruit-forward California rosé with notes of floral red fruit and vibrant orange zest. I also love that Barbera is the primary varietal in Day Owl Rosé. Like the best things in life, Barbera is an Italian varietal that’s meant to be enjoyed young (aka now), so seize the moment and live for the day. It has flavors of dark cherry, dried strawberry, plum, lavender and vanilla which makes it oh so perfect to be used in a mojito and it’s delicious on its own or in a fun cocktail!

The recipe I am sharing is perfect for a group and makes six servings. I start out by muddling a small bunch of mint and eight strawberries in the bottom of a pitcher.

I juice one lime into the pitcher.

Now it's time for 6 oz of coconut rum

I pour in a full bottle of Day Owl. The lively acidity compliments the strawberries so nicely.

I add 6 oz of lemon lime soda and a cup of crushed ice if I am ready to serve.

Stir and get ready to garnish your glasses.  There is nothing wrong with making sure your presentation is a little extra.

I put mint leaves and strawberries in the bottom of the glass.

I pour the Strawberry Rosé Mojito into each glass in equal parts.

For a little extra sweetness I add a little bit of simple syrup on the top of each glass.

And a thin slice of lime for extra prettiness.

Next I add skewers of strawberries and mint to the top of each glass and they are ready to serve!
