Let me put it this way, this easy homemade salad dressing is the reason I haven't purchased salad dressing from the store in years. Its zesty flavors of lemon and spices add the perfect amount of savory goodness that will have even the pickiest of eaters reaching for more leafy greens. Here is my tried and true easy homemade salad dressing recipe.
Homemade Salad Dressing
Start by gathering all of the necessary ingredients: olive oil, white wine vinegar, dijon mustard, Italian spices, lemon, garlic, salt, and pepper.
I like to store my easy homemade salad dressing in a wide-mouth mason jar with this type of plastic lid. Pro tip: make the dressing directly in the mason jars because the measurements are right on the side and you don't have more dishes than necessary! I prefer these lids to the traditional canning jar for their ease of use.
Start off by adding 1/4 cup (2oz) of Extra virgin olive oil to your jar and 1/8 cup (1oz) of white wine vinegar. Any type of vinegar will work, in the past, I've used red wine, sherry, apple cider, and plain white vinegar so feel free to get creative or use what is in your pantry.
Next add 1TBSP each of dijon, minced garlic, and Italian spices.
Next, add one tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp fresh black pepper.
Finally, squeeze the juice of half of a lemon into the mixture. You can find my nifty little citrus juicer tool here.
Shake it all up and pour it over your favorite salad!
This recipe pairs great with my Jarred Pasta Sauce recipe that I make taste homemade or my Mediterranean Shrimp Skewers!
