Being from Georgia, pecans are abundant! My mom makes these scrumptious candied pecans and they are one of my favorite toppings for salads, desserts, breakfast parfaits, and really anything that needs some sweet crunchiness. This simple candied pecans recipe only uses two ingredients and can be made in about 10 minutes! Scroll down for the instructions!
Candied Pecans Recipe
Start off your simple candied pecans by getting either a non-stick sauce pot or my favorite, a Le Creuset 2.25qt saucepan, and turn the stove to medium to high heat.
Then add 1 cup of sugar.
Stir the sugar constantly. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stirring the sugar.
It will start to bead up like water, keep going until it looks like this. If you want to use a candy thermometer it should be around 237F.
Next, add 1 and 1/4 cup of halved pecans to the melted sugar and stir to combine.
Once all of the halved pecans have been coated, dump them onto a piece of aluminum foil. They will be very sticky, but resist the urge to touch them with your hands because the sugar is still extremely hot!
Give them about 5 minutes to cool, and then chop them up with a knife.
Store them in a bowl or a jar for up to two weeks in the refrigerator!
I use these simple candied pecans in my Summer Berry Salad and my Patriotic Parfaits!
