Laundry Room Renovation

John and I have been going through room by room making our updates to our new home. Here is our Laundry Room Renovation with before and after photos!
This post is sponsored by Tarkett; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

John and I recently moved into our new home and have been going through room by room making our updates. The room that we wanted to use as our laundry room was in the basement and like the rest of the basement had water and power, but otherwise was completely unfinished. I have partnered with Tarkett to show you our Laundry Room Renovation! Here are a few of the before photos!

We knew that we wanted to close in the well and water heater so we started by adding plywood to the studs and building a wall to close off that section of the room. To be fair, by we, I mean our contractor. I can DIY some stuff like flooring, but things like walls I leave to the professionals 🙂

After the walls were built, we added a few coats of paint.  We used the same color that we used in the entire house. Shoji White.  It’s amazing how paint can brighten up a room, even if it’s a windowless room in the basement!  Next, it was time to add the flooring. I knew that I wanted a light-colored flooring to compliment the white walls so I chose Champion Oak Burren from the Tarkett Transcend™ SureSet™ line which has a full collection of wood and stone looks.

I love this flooring for the laundry room because it is waterproof with moisture mitigation technology. I would hate for our laundry room to flood, but if it does it is not the end of the world.  It also has Tritonite®, a reinforced urethane finish layer that helps protect against scratches, stains, and wear.

Installation was a piece of cake and literally took about an hour.  The pre-applied adhesive allows for simple and fast installation layouts, perfect for DIY.

The other beautiful thing about this flooring is that you can use it immediately after installation, no wait time for adhesive to set!

We would eventually like to come back in and add shelving and drawers, but for now, we are thrilled to have a light and bright room in our basement with durable floors!

Y’all know I wouldn’t share a product with you without finding a great deal for you to use on your own project! Right now through December 31st, 2019 Tarkett is offering a $250 rebate when you purchase 400 sq/ft or more of their Transcend™ SureSet™ line. Find more information about the rebate here
