The easiest way to make your house smell like fall is to incorporate some of the classic fall ingredients! All you need is oranges, vanilla, cinnamon sticks, lemons, apples, and whole cloves.

The first step is to add whole cloves and cinnamon sticks to your pot of 4 cups of water. This is my personal favorite pot for the job.

After that, add your apple, orange, and lemon slices to your simmering stovetop potpourri.

Then the final ingredient to add is vanilla.

Simmer your ingredients on the lowest level and enjoy the sweet aromas of fall all throughout your home. You can simmer for several hours and just keep adding water if the liquid evaporates.  Necessary disclaimer to monitor your simmering stovetop potpourri to make sure nothing catches fire.
