John and I celebrated our anniversary this year in Cancun, Mexico. Neither one of us had ever been to Mexico and wanted to see if it was really worth the hype. We knew before we ever looked at resort choices that we did not want party hard Cancun. Our idea of a great tropical vacation is breathtaking views, luxury accommodations, and excellent food and service. Let me tell you, Le Blanc Spa Resort exceeded all of our expectations and then some.
The view from our room was outstanding. Every morning we would wake up, open the doors and eat breakfast with that view and the sounds of the ocean. It was heaven on earth. The other view from our room was of the main pool and resort area.
Le Blanc is a smaller resort that is easy to navigate. The three pools were rarely crowded. We never had trouble finding the perfect spot in sun or shade.
One main thing that I noticed was that they did not have party music or any music blaring by the pools. There was not a resort entertainment manager trying to get people to play pool games or have beer chugging competitions. It was truly relaxation station! If you are into that kind of thing on vacation, Le Blanc is NOT your place. However, they did have paddle board yoga in the pool every morning 🙂
John loved the gym and TRX classes and I liked that they offered pilates. Did take them up on their offer? Nope. But I did like that they offered LOLAs you would expect at a SPA resort, the SPA was phenomenal! The beauty of it is, you get $1,500 of resort credit included in your booking and you can use up to $500 of it at the Spa. John and I both got facials and 80 minute massages and he also got a body scrub.
The salon was also wonderful. One of the owners of the resort is also the owner of CHI haircare. This being said, all of the salon products and hotel toiletries were CHI. Each room even had a CHI hairdryer and straightener so you can leave yours at home. Read more about what beauty products I brought on the trip here. Confession: I don't wash my own hair anymore and haven't for quite awhile. I get blowouts twice a week. Shoutout to my girl, Whitney who keeps my hair looking fresh! I admit there is nothing MODERATELY about that but I accept the high in that maintenance. This being said, the blowouts at Le Blanc were also top notch! You can even use your resort credit on those!
Another aspect that really set Le Blanc above other all inclusive we have visited was the food. For a little background, our view of other all-inclusive food in the past has been “It's good, but nothing we would crave at home.” At Le Blanc, every restaurant was chef quality and we were blown away with how delicious every meal was. We still crave several of the dishes. Our favorites were: the huevos rancheros for breakfast, the cook in front of you fajita bar with guacamole at lunch, and the delicious cook on the stone main course BlancAsia. (Sorry I forgot name of stone one)
I will also mention that I have gluten and dairy allergies and the staff was SO accommodating. They even had gluten free soy sauce for me at the asian restaurant. If there was not something on the menu that I wanted the chef was always willing to make a special dish.
The service of the staff was by far the most memorable part of our entire experience. Every room in the resort had two butlers. Our butlers unpacked my suitcases while we were at dinner the first night and when we returned all of my clothes were hung in the closet and steamed. Everything else was neatly put away as well.
The resort also had an app that you could request services with real time responses. Any room service orders, requests to have your bubble bath waiting when you get back from dinner, which aroma therapy you want diffused throughout your room and anything else your heart can fathom can all be handled from the app. AMAZING!
On our anniversary, the butlers decorated the room and had a beautiful fruit display with champagne.The day we were leaving, we spent every moment possible at the beach and our butlers handled packing my bags. Everything was perfectly folded and placed in little bags! Our flight was leaving later in the day and we would be staying at resort past the normal checkout time. Our butlers coordinated for us to have a courtesy room after check out so we could change and shower and wouldn't have to cut our beach time short. After they packed the luggage they transported it to the courtesy room and even had my travel clothes laid out for me. Now THAT is what I call service. Juan, Javier, and Eduardo you, my friends, are the real MVP's. All in all, we were blown away by the scenery, epicurean experience as well as the impeccable service of the Le Blanc Staff.
