How Intentional Mornings Lead to Bold Decisions

How Intentional Mornings Lead to Bold Decisions

When John and I first started dating I introduced him to French press coffee brewing. If I knew then what I know now, I would have expected him to quickly learn everything there is to know about French presses and start giving me lessons on how to do it with precision soon after.  Fast forward to now, I greatly appreciate John’s dedication to excellence even with what seems like the most menial tasks. I also greatly appreciate that he has taken over the coffee making in the morning and brings my first cup to me in bed.  😉

John has been away for a month, and I really miss his attention to details especially the coffee detail. While I have been making my own coffee in the morning I have been contemplating how important the little details are and how little decisions add up to big impact.  I’ve teamed up with 1850 Brand Coffee from Folgers to share how intentional mornings lead to bold decisions.

Lifestyle changes can be very intimidating. However when you look at the end goal and take it one small step at a time it can be more manageable.

I decided I wanted to make my mornings my “power hours” because every bold life starts with a first bold choice and every bold day has a morning. First step in the transformation was to decide what I wanted to accomplish. So I posted myself up with a warm cup of happy juice AKA 1850 Brand Coffee  in one of my favorite places and started to brainstorm. Back in 1850, J.A. Folger started something new and innovative to help the prospectors as they sought their fortunes.  This coffee fuels the fire of the bold hustlers and intentional go-getters. There's just something about the smooth taste and aroma of the fire-roasted ground beans that just make me want to make s#!+ happen.

So here is what I determined I want out of my mornings: I want to work out, leave my house in an orderly state instead of a whirlwind of clothes from me trying to decide what to wear, have an idea of what is for dinner, and be alert and mentally focused when I head into the office. All of these things set my day up for success, reduced stress, and ultimately bold decision making throughout the day.

So here is how I stepped it out:

1: Workout: I schedule a trainer who is waiting on me four mornings a week. Accountability is key in this scenario.

2: Leave house in orderly state: 1. Make my bed as soon as I get out of it. 2. Have my clothes chosen the night before so all I have to do is put them on.

3. Dinner: I just know generalities here, what main and veggies. John typically makes the main course and I do the sides. So I just need to know whether or not I need to make a trip to the store before I head home.

4. Mental Focus: I make sure I have a great cup of 1850 Brand Coffee and set myself up for a little me time. I like to renew my intention for every morning by writing down what I am thankful for, reading a book, or just taking time to pray.

Each of these steps help me feel prepared for the day when I leave my house because I know all of the little details are handled.  When I am not worried about things at home, it frees my mind to make clear and bold decisions throughout the day. What do you think? Are you ready to transform your morning to make bold decisions?
